08 Mar 2010
im kida strapped for cash but i want my fiancee to have a great wedding how much does you r average wedding cost
My wedding costs are $20,000 after tax and tip and everything. But there are definitely ways to keep these costs down. You could always try a themed wedding. I know a friend who had a country music themed wedding and they did the whole thing as a picnic with barbecue. All the guests wore cowboy hats and shorts and they all loved it!

2010 Mar 09 2I have heard the average wedding costs £20,000…. in my eyes that is way over the top!
Me and my fiance want to get wed next yr, we have decided to go abroad and get married on the beach and enjoy a nice holiday at the same time for way cheaper.
We looked at prices for 2 weeks in 5 star, all inclusive with wedding for approx £4000.
I hope this gives u an idea.

2010 Mar 09 3I am planning my wedding and we have a budget of about 3000 or 4000 tops! Here are some amazing hint and tips:
*DIY what you can, aka Flowers buy flowers from Samsclub.com or another place (the reason I suggest samsclub.com is because they have the lows prices and they also have amazing reviews!!) I would suggest keeping the order simple, I am planning on buying white roses from them I have myself and 3 bridesmaid and we are all going to have white roses but to make my flowers special I am going to buy a dozen calla lillies just from the store or farmers market, and then look for videos online that will tell you how to make your arrangements
*SEARCH online EVERYWHERE, I have been planning my wedding for a while now even though it isn’t for over a year, I have found cheaper and cheaper prices for the same exact things, or similar items
*Look for a location that you love but is also close to if not all inclusive, (inclusive on what you want that is), You need to aim for a place that includes tables, chairs, and preferable the location for many hours for a low price (believe me they are out there).
*Don’t spend a lot of money on the Wedding Dress! It is your day to feel like a princess but if you don’t have the princess budget or a magic wand then shop at places like david’s bridal where you can find many different dress in different price ranges!
*Ask family and friends for references! We are planning on having a "amateur" photographer do our photos, we know she is good because she has a website and has done other pictures for my family before she has experience but she isn’t professional which saves us the professional price tag, and also try and get it put on a cd or dvd and then take it to a place like Costco and print out the Pictures YOU both want and the sizes you want and believe me it is really inexpensive
GOOD LUCK HOPE THESE TIPS HELP! 🙂

2010 Mar 09 4Remember that it can vary a lot.
Is your wedding indoors? Outdoors?
At a private place? Someone’s backyard? A reserved place?
A closed area?
How big or small do you want it?
What are you guys gonna wear?
How many people are going?
How are you gonna handle music?
ETC.

2010 Mar 09 7http://www.costofwedding.com will give you an idea of the average for your area.
I’m in a pricier area and having a pretty typical saturday wedding with dinner reception. We are budgeting based on 200 guests and know in the end that we will come in under budget as not everyone is going to attend. We set our budget at $20k which is less than the average for our area of the country.

2010 Mar 09 8Stuides have shown that the average cost of a wedding in the United States are approximately $28,000 US. My fiance and I are keeping our costs under $10,000. You can easily keep your wedding to under $5000 US if you do everything the correct way and limit the guest list. Try to keep your reception costs to a minmum because that is where you will spend the most of your money. Good luck and congrats.
