my guy just wants 2 run off and get married i have never been married officially and neither has he. would settle for a wedding/reception at our farm still would love a church wedding. so how much more would us having a traditional church wedding cost?
if you are a member of a church, they usually look for just a donation to the church to perform the ceremony… however, you will have to provide all the decorations and heed to their restrictions.. no money savings there really…. i love that you live on a farm… i am doing an at home wedding myself… 10/10/09… we live in a small historical town in the south and are blessed with a beautiful historic home in the heart of the downtown area… live oaks bigger around than you can reach, moss hanging from the trees, year round blooming trees, true southern ambiance. our wedding is going to cost around 3700.00 total… the venue is free but that is the end of the savings… we still have to decorate, but we are using our surroundings to benefit us… we are doing white twinkle lights in the bushes that totally enclose our yard ( front and back ) lots of tulle ( and i mean lots!! i can send you a link to low cost tulle if you like ) and we ( not really we.. i ( : ) chose white daisies as our flowers which are in full bloom late summer and early fall ( check the season of the flowers you pick, they can be costly if they are not in season when you plan to marry ). we are doing heavy appetizers and an open bar… the food and liquor looks to be the most expensive part of the wedding…

2010 Jan 10 1That would depend upon what type of services you want/photographer, cake at reception, flowers, boquet, how you’re going to dress for the ceremony, where you have the ceremony and who officiates.

2010 Jan 10 2depends where you live hun
i have paid £10k for the basics of my wedding, but with all the extras to make it everything we dream of it has gone up to 17k
churches cost between £300-600 for a wedding then you can find somehwere cheaper for the reception, or have it on your farm as you mentioned, im sure you could get everything you need for around £8-10k
good luck!

2010 Jan 10 3OMG, let me tell you, I could ramble on and on about this. I decided on a traditional Church wedding thinking it would be less expenseive. TRUST ME, there is no such thing as an inexpensive Church wedding. You are looking at the cost of your dress, his tux, the donation you will give the Church, how much you will have to tip the piano player, flowers, invites, the list goes on and on. It is way more than I expected it to be. So far I’m up to about $7,000 and my budget was $5,000. I wanted to elope because you’re looking at only a few hundred bucks, the reason I didn’t was because I really wanted my dad to walk me down the aisle. So, I took the advice of my fiance which I will pass on to you…You will only get married once (hopefully) so make it the way you always dreamed it will be. Good luck!

2010 Jan 10 4Well it depends. Are you members at the church? Then the service would be free.
If you want decorations, food, cake, beverages, photographer, music, ect, it all adds up. I think a lot of people can plan very simple weddings with $1000

2010 Jan 10 5Not too much really.. Ours was 1200 but its because it is a VERY POPULAR CHURCH!! but most are 600 if your not a member. If you are they are probably less.

2010 Jan 10 6Usually a church won’t charge much, especially if you or a family member is a member of the church. In my area I haven’t found one over $100 but then I haven’t looked to hard. Good luck, hon!

2010 Jan 10 8Hi. That is impossible for anyone to tell you. The reason? It all depends on a number of things:
~ Do you need to rent a venue?
~ What type of meal will you be serving?
And…most important….how many guests?
It all depends on a number of factors. If you belong to a church, it should not be much to be married there. You will need $$ for a marriage license; $$ to pay the minister; $$ to pay the organist/pianist, etc.
Then, all the traditional things: your dress; your fiance’s tux (or suit); food; drinks; cake; invitations; flowers; decorations; photographer; music (DJ?); any rentals that you will need.
The list could go on and on. However, many on here ARE having a simple wedding for about $5,000 (AND LESS!) Again, it all depends on HOW MANY guests you are having….the more guests…the more it’s going to cost.

2010 Jan 10 9It depends on what your definition of traditional means and where you live. Wedding costs are very regional and depend a lot on your local economy. In my area, a more traditional church wedding/reception with the nicer touches (not even overly fancy) will cost about $15,000-$20.000 easily.

2010 Jan 10 11not much, however the big costs tend to be catering and flowers. If you have the ceremony at your farm and do most of the cooking, you’ll save a ton!
Another great way to save is to make your own invitations. http://www.thefreewedding.com has great free templates that you can download and customize.

2010 Jan 10 12We are getting married for £3000 and have EVERYTHING…cars, cake, venue etc etc..
The church cost us £400. Everything else was down to lots of shopping around and cutting corners (eg bought 3 plain cakes and decorated ourselves).

2010 Jan 10 13Congrats first of all! I’m pretty sure you can reserve and have your ceremony in nice church for small donations ( that’s what they call it), Bigger and fancier church bigger donation. Can decorate inexpensive with tulle and pew bows. Runners are pretty cheap on ebay. Im sure if you’ll do some research online you’ll come up with decent priced decorations. Now that is where it starts getting expensive: RECEPTION. If you have one, please do your research. Next best thing and took me 5 month of researching and appointments: Afternoon Saturday…Cheap. Sunday, Friday….Cheaper. Sunday Friday Afternoon..Even more cheaper. Most venues would gladly work with your on Sunday Friday Evening receptions. Shop around for photographer. That was a hardest task. But I reserved mine. And for 6 hours of unlimited coverage I will pay only 695. My wedding budget $ 8500 for 110 people. I’m still within my budget.Instead of limo rent luxury car for whole day. Go wild! Me & Bridesmaids doing our own flowers. Wholesale flowers way to go…and it’s easy to make hand tied bouquets, corsages and etc. Use high quality silk flowers…you can get deals on those at hobby lobby at all times. Go to few trunk shows in your area if you want designers dress or get it made. In Other words shop around and have fun whatever you do. It’s you big day! Best of Luck
