How much does a wedding reception cost?
08 Mar 2010
How much should a wedding reception cost? Thats including the flowers, food, music, decor, plates, and banquet hall. This is going to be an indian style wedding (from india, not native american) Thanks!
Typically about $25,000 for a standard wedding. That always depends on number of guests your inviting, city where it’s being held and any traditions or customs you have to take into consideration.
Try this site out, it’s got good info.

2010 Mar 09 3It would depend on what you can afford to spend. I personally think it could be done rather simple out in the back yard with all your friends everyone one brings a dish and some beer and the party is on!
I’m just plain ol’ country folk

2010 Mar 09 4It really just depends on how much you want to spend. You can go a less expensive route by catering yourself. Buying bulk items at a cost center such as Sams or Costco you can save a bundle. They have great finger foods in their frozen food area. With these you can defrost the night before and buy some inexpensive platters to serve them on. I did this for mine and we only spent about 300.00. So there are ways to save money for the honeymoon you just have to be creative. Good luck

2010 Mar 09 5It all depends on your budget, # of guests and how much of a wedding reception you really want to have. You have to consider every detail especially if the bride-to-be wants a certain theme. It has be carefully thought out by those getting married and the ones who are going to be paying for it!

2010 Mar 09 6Forget the "hoopla" … a reception is merely to exchange "best wishes" to meet the "relatives" and to have a little fun before rushing off to the honeymoon suite. Better yet, have a "bring our own" reception and save the money to purchase that new humongous house she expects you to provide for her. Given the odds… expensive weddings/receptions are a way to boast how financially secure you are. If you are, then don’t worry about the expenses. SUPER-SIZE IT!

2010 Mar 09 7It can cost anything you want it to cost. It will depend on the venue you choose. Catered, banquet service, buffet, quality and type of food? I can’t speak for anyone else but mine was $150 per person for 200 people, catered at a private hall with 5 courses with wine through dinner and champagne for toasting. Open bar was a seperate bill from the food which was about half as much, buy het itwas an Italian wedding we actually got off cheap than his sisters wedding.

2010 Mar 09 8It will cost exactly as much as you want to spend. Every single item on your list can be had for $0 or it could cost thousands as well as anywhere in between. Determine your budget and then make the reception fit it. With careful planning you can have the reception you want on any budget. The less you are willing to spend the more work it will be to make it happen, but it can be done.

2010 Mar 09 9The cost is up to you. Determine what kind of reception you want for food, beverages, decor, hall, music etc THEN call some catering companies and provide them with the number of guests anticipated and they can quote you a "price per person". Shop around. I have done two very nice weddings at reasonable costs for 170 guests.

2010 Mar 09 10Depends on where and how many people – you can throw an Indian wedding for $20k, but it would be pretty tough. If you’re talking about a typical Indian wedding (around 400 people with multiple events), you’re looking at 35k+ for sure.
